YOUTH ACCESS FUND
LOCAL FUND FOR LOCAL YOUTH
What Is It?
Revelstoke’s Youth Access Fund, (YA Fund) was established in 2014 as a way to ensure all youth have equal opportunity to participate in sports, recreation, arts and cultural programs, events and activities. The YA Fund is designed to help remove financial barriers (including registration fees, equipment, transportation and other costs associated with participation) for youth from low and modest-income families to participate in activities that they would otherwise not be able to do.
Who Is Eligible?
Youth between the age of 6-19 years old, who are residents of Revelstoke and whose family exhibits financial need are eligible. Financial need is defined as any family that falls below the Revelstoke Living Wage income of $75,000 (before tax) and $60,000 (after-tax). Youth from families with a modest income that exceeds the value outlined above and who are experiencing needs as a result of unforeseen financial circumstances or family difficulty may also qualify for a full or partial subsidy (e.g. job layoff or illness of a parent, family separation, crisis, etc.).
